1826 Jul 17:  PORTOVELO/FRANCA Stampless letter from Portovelo (Colon) to Guayaquil (Ecuador) Dated in manuscript by Santa María.
1833: Feb 20. Entire letter from Panamá with gorgeous red PORTOVELO handstamp of Spanish origin, initially forwarded to Cartagena and redirected to Popayán at a single rate for a 301-400 Leagues distance with ''4'' Reales marking. An exceedingly scarce and delightful entire. Cert. Bortfeldt.

1838ca: Letter from Portovelo (Colon) to Bogotá, addressed to Pedro Alcántara Herrán (1800-1872), Governor of the Province and later President of New Granada; struck with superb strike of rare abbreviated PORTOVELO handstamp in red (Tizón). The folded letter with manuscript '4' rate marking at top and an oval handstamp removed. Cert. Philatelic Foundation (2004).
1835c.: Unpaid cover to Bogotá struck with oval framed "DEBE/CHAGRE." in red with manuscript notation "4 rs." at upper right.
1844: Nov 21 CHAGRE FRANCA well struck red oval handstamp on folded letter from Chagres to General Pedro Alcantara Herran in Bogota, who was serving at President of New Granada, manuscript "4" reales paying the triple rate up to 1oz.
